1. Scope
PopTrans does not operate a developer server that receives translation content or API keys. It contains no advertising, trackers, or feature that sends analytics or crash reports to the operator.
2. Data stored on your device
PopTrans stores settings, trial state, and translation history locally on your device. Provider API keys are kept in secure credential storage supplied by the system. They are not written to ordinary settings, translation history, or diagnostic logs.
You can clear translation history, reset settings, and remove provider credentials in the app. Because credentials may be stored separately by the system, removing the app alone may not remove them.
3. AI provider requests
PopTrans connects directly to an enabled OpenAI, Gemini, or DeepSeek service only when you test a connection or request a translation. A request may include source text, source and target languages, model and related settings, instructions needed to produce the result, and the API key used to authenticate the request. Results may be saved in local history after they return to the app.
A provider may also automatically receive network information related to a request, including your IP address and approximate region inferred from it, account or API credential identifiers, request time, usage, and security metadata. Depending on the service plan and account settings, a provider may retain or review requests to provide and secure its service, measure usage, meet legal obligations, or improve its service.
The selected provider processes this data under its own terms and account settings. The operator does not receive your translation content, results, or API key through a PopTrans service. A provider may process data in other countries or regions. Review its policy for retention and data controls:
PopTrans supports only providers that publish their data protection and security practices. To remain supported, a provider must give user data the same or equivalent protection required by this policy and applicable law under its published policies. If the operator determines that a provider can no longer do so, PopTrans will stop supporting that provider.
Do not translate confidential, sensitive, or personal information that you are not authorized to send.
4. Device features
PopTrans attempts to read selected text only when you invoke selection translation. When necessary, it may briefly use a copy action to read the selection and restore the previous clipboard contents. PopTrans does not continuously collect what you type.
In the current version, source-text speech is processed on the device. Using this feature does not send text or audio to an AI provider.
5. Trials, purchases, and deletion
Trial state is stored locally on the device. Purchases and restores are handled by the distribution platform from which you obtained the app. The operator does not directly receive your full payment card details. The platform’s policy applies to its handling of transaction data.
Local data remains until you delete or reset it in the app or remove the corresponding local storage. Provider retention is governed by that provider’s policy and your account settings. The operator cannot access or delete data held in your provider account on your behalf.
To withdraw permission for PopTrans to send future requests to a provider, stop using that provider and remove its credentials in the app. PopTrans will then send no new content to it. To request deletion of data already held by a provider, use that provider’s account controls or contact the provider directly; the operator cannot do this on your behalf.
PopTrans uses secure system credential storage and encrypted network connections, but no system can guarantee absolute security. PopTrans is not directed to children; anyone using an online service should also meet that provider’s minimum age requirement.
If PopTrans materially changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated with a new effective date. For privacy questions, contact ywhdt_zh@outlook.com.
