Common questions
Unable to calculate?
Check the age and readings against the guidance below each field. One valid reading per site is enough to calculate; add a second or third reading if you want to compare consistency. You can enter measurements in millimeters or inches. The app does not provide an estimate when the sum of the three site averages is over 120 mm (4.724 in).
Why does the result differ from other measurements?
Site placement, pressure, timing, and the equation used can all affect the result. For more comparable results, have the same person take measurements under similar conditions and focus mainly on long-term trends. If the result page says the readings vary widely, retake the measurements. See the in-app Guide for detailed limitations.
How does Apple Health work?
After calculating, you can choose Add to Apple Health. The first attempt asks for permission to write body fat percentage. Skinfold never reads HealthKit data and does not add raw skinfold readings, age, sex, category, or local history. One reading per site is eligible; when a site has two or more readings, a difference over 3 mm (0.118 in) must be retaken before the estimate can be added.
What if permission is denied, or I want to remove a sample?
Manage Skinfold's access in Apple Health or iOS Settings. View or delete an added sample in the Health app. Apple Health samples and Skinfold's local history are separate, so denying access or deleting either one does not change the other.
How do I delete history?
On the History page, delete an individual record or choose Clear history in the toolbar to delete all records.
Contact the developer
Include the app version, iPhone model, iOS version, and steps to reproduce the issue. Add screenshots if needed. Do not send unnecessary personal health information in an email or public issue.
